How to plant your dahlia tubers

Plant dahlias in full sun after the risk of frost has passed. Space plants 12 inches apart, and 6 inches deep in well drained soil. Make sure to keep dahlia eyes upward. Water plants in. You don’t need to water again until the first green leaves appear. Continue to water dahlias weekly. Pinch your dahlias when they get 12 inches tall to produce a bigger plant. Dahlias are a cut and come again flower. Meaning, the more you cut the blooms and/or deadhead, the more flowers they will send up. Plants will need support. Stakes or a trellis will work depending on how many plants you’re growing at a time. Enjoy your beautiful blooms from late summer until the first frost.
